I was born and raised in LA and lived in New York City for a couple years. I'm based in Delaware and currently the Courts and Police Data Reporter at News Journal/Delawareonline.

I was also a freelance web producer at Time, Digital Editor at The Daily Journal, a publication covering law in California, and producing intern at MSNBC. I have a BA in Media Studies from Azusa Pacific University and a MA in Journalism from City University of New York's Graduate School of Journalism.

I received the Online News Association/CNN Diversity Fellowship for the 2018 conference. The fellowship allowed me to have an all-expense paid trip to Austin and participated in mentorships, workshops and networking. I was also a judge for the National Association of Hispanic Journalists' 2018/2019 Ñ Awards for their student and digital categories.

I'm Cuban and Native American. I was also diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD at a young age.
